When having to deal with affliction or tragedy we often ask 'Why me?'. We can question God with the presumption that there's some underlying reason for our circumstances - that in some way it's God's judgement on us. But the message of Job is that asking 'why' is doomed to failure. Rather we need to remember that God always remains worthy of praise because He is righteous and all-knowing. That despite any affliction, we can always still know 'it is well with my soul'
||Dealing with sin (keeping our joy): God hates sin, but through Christ we are essentially made as if we've never sinned when we're baptised. But what happens if we then sin again? Can we do anything to avoid that guilt that can so easily trap us, steal our joy, and ruin our salvation?
